INGREDIENTS
- 20 oz fresh blackberries
- 1.5 fl oz maple syrup
- 7 oz spelt flour type 1050
- 7 oz fine wheat / pastry flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 sachets vanilla sugar
- 5.5 oz brown cane sugar
- 8.8 oz butter at room temperature
- Confectioner’s sugar for dusting
ACCESSORIES
- All-purpose oven tray
- Baking paper to line the tray
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Prepare the grill for high indirect heat (445-465°F). Sort, rinse and dry the blackberries. Then blend with the maple syrup.
STEP 2:
Sift the flour and baking powder into a sufficiently large bowl. Add the vanilla sugar, cane sugar and butter and work into a loose crumble with your hands.
STEP 3:
Line the tray with baking paper.
STEP 4:
To layer, spread half of the crumble over the bottom of the tin.Then spread the fruit over the crumble.
STEP 5:
5Top the fruit with the remaining crumble.
STEP 6:
Place the tray of blackberry crumble in the grill and grill with the lid closed for 20-25 minutes. Dust with the confectioner’s sugar to serve.
TIP:
Now that’s an easy crumble. You can use a variety of ripe or even frozen fruit such as mixed berries, strawberries and blueberries.
